The CHAMP Plan™ provides access to unlimited urgent care visits for covered employees. The plan will pay 100% of the urgent care office visit charges through the First Health Provider Network, leaving you with a $0 deductible and $0 copay.
When Should You Use Urgent Care?
Urgent care centers assist patients with non-life-threatening illnesses or injuries. Urgent care is often necessary when a patient cannot wait until their primary care doctor can treat them.
Here are a few instances that might require an urgent care visit:
Accidents or falls
Moderate back problems
Bleeding or cuts that may require stitches
Difficulty breathing
Eye irritation
Flu, fever, sore throat, cough, etc.
Minor fractures or broken bones
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, etc.
Rashes or infections
Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
Life-threatening situations such as a heart attack or stroke will need immediate attention from an emergency room, not urgent care.
